Bayview Park & Community Center

2000 E. Lloyd Street

LOST funding contributed to Bayview Park's most significant recent improvement: the $8.1 million Bayview Community Resource Center, which broke ground in 2018. The community center serves as a hub for environmental education, water safety programs and a variety of community events. The new facility includes:

  • State-of-the-art facility for community gatherings, events and a variety of watersports activities.

  • Approximately 3,500 square feet of flexible community event space and 4,000 square feet of indoor storage for kayaks and other recreational equipment.

  • In addition to a variety of programs and events for residents of all ages, the center will offer equipment rentals including kayaks, stand up paddleboards, pedal boats, bikes and more.

Bayview Park has been a beloved community gathering place in Pensacola since the early 1900s — first listed in the city directory in 1907 and home to Independence Day celebrations as early as 1908. Historically known as "Pensacola's Watering Hole," the park once featured a 30-foot diving platform into Bayou Texar and offered swimming lessons, first aid and social services to the community.
