Buddy’s Lane Drainage Project
2913 Buddys Lane between LaRua and W Streets
Chronic flooding along the south side of Buddy's Lane was a persistent problem for residents until L.O.S.T. supported a drainage redesign completed in June 2017. The project eliminated a low-lying area in front of 2913 Buddy's Lane that was collecting stormwater, redirecting runoff into a new curb inlet and storm system. Improvements included:
New stormwater conveyance system to redirect drainage away from the problem area
New curb inlets and curbing along the south side of Buddy's Lane
New driveway approaches for properties affected by previous flooding
Escambia County's low-lying geography makes neighborhoods like this one particularly vulnerable to flooding. The penny makes targeted drainage improvements and repairs like this possible, protecting residents and property.
