Buddy’s Lane Drainage Project

2913 Buddys Lane between LaRua and W Streets

Chronic flooding along the south side of Buddy's Lane was a persistent problem for residents until L.O.S.T. supported a drainage redesign completed in June 2017. The project eliminated a low-lying area in front of 2913 Buddy's Lane that was collecting stormwater, redirecting runoff into a new curb inlet and storm system. Improvements included:

  • New stormwater conveyance system to redirect drainage away from the problem area

  • New curb inlets and curbing along the south side of Buddy's Lane

  • New driveway approaches for properties affected by previous flooding

Escambia County's low-lying geography makes neighborhoods like this one particularly vulnerable to flooding. The penny makes targeted drainage improvements and repairs like this possible, protecting residents and property.
