Legion Field & Theophalis May Center

Funding from the Local Option Sales Tax supported a comprehensive renovation of Legion Field, one of Pensacola's most active westside community parks. Improvements included:

  • A new community splash pad, open mid-March through October

  • A new football field press box and pavilions

  • New sidewalks and walking trails illuminated by 34 fully solar-powered smart lights along the walking path, playground, and splash pad — capable of running three days without recharging and designed to automatically brighten when park visitors approach

Located on the corner of West Gregory and North G Street. Visitors to Legion Field are offered activities for the entire family including the new walking trail and splash pad. Legion Field is the home of the Theophalis May Center, a playground and LeaP into Fitness Court, and sits adjacent to the West Florida Public Library Westside Branch.
